Classes and Gods

As part of the character customisation, players could choose what class they wanted to go, and what god they wanted to worship. Both would affect the stats and strategy the players would be able to use.

Character Customisation Screen

I was very happy to find that UDK supported flash player for its menu and HUD. This is the menu when you pause in game, and can use it to customise your character. It took me a fair time searching to figure out how to do this, so if anyone reads this and wants to know how for their game, feel free to send me an email and I'll try to help out.

Spells

There are 5 combat spells that the character can choose from, one to be the primary, and one to be the secondary fire. Then the player can choose a defensive spell, either a type of shield or a mine. The 4th spell is an aura, that is tied to the selected class. 

Fireball

Picture
Burns thy Foe! A exploding ball of flame that can be charged to do more damage and affect a larger area. If charged enough the fireball will split and rain fire onto your enemies.

Divine Beam

Picture
A beam of pure faith that shall carve through the unbelievers. A long range direct fire spell that requires around a 2 second charge to have its full effect.

Impaler

Picture
Talons from purgatory erupt from the earth to strike at the heretical. A short to medium range spell that sprouts forth bigger and more numerous spikes the longer it is charged. Devastating to tightly packed teams in close quarters.

Energy Shield

Picture
Absorbs lightning and divine beam hits reducing the damage of them significantly. A divine snipers worst enemy.

Crusader - Fervour

Picture
Boosts the healing rate of the crusader, allowing him to take more damage.

Priestess - Heal Aura

Picture
Heals all nearby players as long as they stay within range of the aura.

Lightning

Picture
Lightning has a fast fire rate but only a short range and small damage, making it a good spell on the run and in close quarters.

Stone Fist

Picture
A fist of stone forms around the caster's hand, then bursts forth flying through the air. Shorty after casting, the fist fractures into several smaller shards which tear through the flesh of the deserving.
By selecting this for primary and secondary fire, you can 'double fist' your foe, doubling the firing rate and reducing the overcharge amount.

Air Shield

Picture
Deflects projectiles, such as the fireball and stone fist, making them fly harmlessly away.

Fire Rune

Picture
Defensive Spell that requires the caster to stand still and charge it. Triggered when an enemy walks over it and does damage.

Prophet - Damage Aura

Picture
Increases the damage output of all allies around the caster.
